(That’s two Blood Orange-produced tracks today!)

Got a Girl Crush On: My West-Coast Taste Twin
I (Meg) was in San Fran for a whopping 24 hours before roadtrippin’ down Highway 1 to LA for the week, but snagged some quick girl-time with Andrea at Sightglass coffee in SoMa for a mini girl-crush reunion!
Of course we showed up basically wearing the same outfit—but that’s why this blog gels well from opposite ends of the country. Great sartorial minds think alike ;)

Got a Girl Crush On: Internet kismet
So excited to share this!
I (in Brooklyn) met Andrea (in San Francisco) on Tumblr. Andrea met Rebecca at IndieMart. Andrea introduced me to Rebecca, who is currently hosting pop-up art events across the country with her art & culture blog/shop/event series, BIG THINGS (say hello to her in Chicago on February 7th!). Rebecca and I toiled together via the interwebs to co-curate this amazing afternoon of art and skills (I organize The Brooklyn Skillshare which is a community-based, community-led, and community-building learning events organized and taught by Brooklyn residents)!
If you’re in Brooklyn on Saturday, February 11th—come out and say hi!

Got a girl crush on: Sunny Walker
All right, guys. I think this is my favorite Closet Visit so far. Sunny Walker owns one of my favorite shops in SF, Painted Bird (there’s also one in LA). I was just in there this past weekend taking photos for a project I’m contributing to called Urbandig. Sunny’s wardrobe is a pretty good representation of the kind of wonderful things you can find there.

Got A Girl Crush On: Jessalyn Aaland
I can barely cut a coupon, let alone the outline of a cuckoo clock, so when I came across Jessalyn’s collages I was like, “Whaaa? No way, Jose!”. Her collaging abilities are truly mind blowing. My favorite of her series is “Dreamhouse" where she puts together bits and pieces of imaginary rooms. She also shares this incredible space in Oakland with other fellow artists.

Got a girl crush on: Bratmobile - “Cool Schmool”

Found this gem off the Joytown Mix by Anh Do.

Got a girl crush on: Tavi’s Post on Rayanne Graff
I really enjoyed reading Tavi's longass-but-extremely-thoughtful post on My So-Called Life, particularly Rayanne Graff’s character. She even sprinkles in a few Freaks & Geeks references! Oh, giiiiiiiirl…
The post starts off with a long form essay on Rayanne’s role in the show and proceeds to an epic series of screencaps and captions detailing her style. Highly recommended reading for all MSCL fans.
Tavi, I love you!

Got a girl crush on: Brave Irene - “Bank Holiday”

An all-girl piece from Vancouver formed by none other than Rose Melberg. If that voice sounds familiar to you, it’s because she used to be in Tiger Trap, then in The Softies, and recently made an appearance on one of my favorite tracks off GIGI’s Maintenant.

Their self-titled 12” is out now and you can grab it over at Slumberland Records.
