Got a Girl Crush On: Heather Benjamin’s “Sad People Sex”
This stuff is weird and gross and bloody and strangely appealing in it’s tiny epic details.
Heather Benjamin has carved out (literally—in most of the women depicted in her comics’ case) a very brutally honest niche about the pratfalls of sex and relationships and all the wet and gore that comes along with it!

Got A Girl Crush On: Feminist Zine, Shocking Pink
Shocking Pink was a feminist zine put out by a collective of young women in London, including Katy Watson who died in 2008. As the organiser of last year’s Women’s Library described it ‘Shocking Pink, which ran from the late 1980s to early 1990s, billed itself as a “radical magazine for young women”. Part magazine with serious political coverage, part school-club magazine (if your classmates were hot-headed, deliciously witty, rebel grrrls) this magazine pre-dated riot grrrl zines with its fusion of sass, cultural appropriation and sprawling biro-made doodles all over the margins and type face’.

Got a Girl Crush Zine + Girl Crush Zine
There’s some confusion surrounding the release of Got a Girl Crush Magazine (ours) and Girl Crush Zine (Jenny & Thessaly’s). We want to minimize the mixup and say that these are two separate publications. Similar name, similar release dates, but not the same (we’re also shooting for a mid-August launch date).
We’d like to extend our hand to these fine ladies and congratulate them on their August 12 launch. Hope y’all are ready for this month, because it’s going to be jam packed with girl on girl positivity. And there’s always plenty of room for that, right?
