Got a girl crush on: Alexa Chung Ok, you know I had to post Alexa Chung. She’s probably my biggest girl crush of all. I’m talking, like, near Tiger Beat status. And you can expect to see more of her on this blog. She’s the fashion darling of the UK, and arguably the leader of the whole menswear-inspired look. A babydoll smock paired with some smart looking brogues, a satchel bag and a ton of layered necklaces? Alexa Chung was doing it before you. And unlike other It girls out there, you DO see Alexa wearing the same items twice, three, four and even five times. She shops Chanel and Charles Anastaste, but also mixes in vintage, H&M and Topshop seamlessly. And now she’s brought her quirky style, husky smoking-grandma voice, and dry UK humor to the US with her MTV show It’s On With Alexa Chung. Hopefully she inspires girls across the nation to move away from those cockroach UGG boots (they just never die!) and general propensity for slutty clubwear, toward something a little more modest, subtle, and tasteful–the ole English way.
